This is public service blog post for the surprising number of people who have arrived here looking for it!

Some Birley students and one of my colleagues featured in episode 10 of Bang Goes the Theory. They were brilliant, but you can see that for yourself if you watch them on the BBC i-player. (I’m claiming no credit for this at all, I wasn’t involved in any way.)

The section on smell starts at 10:42, Birley Community College appears at 13:30. Enjoy!

  Where can I get some of those smelly pen ends? Superb idea and I wouldn’t mind trying it on my children! Any ideas?

  To be honest, I don’t know the answer to that question, but I’ll ask when school re-opens next week.

  Updated: Sadly the answer is that they aren’t being manufactured for sale at the moment.
