A market researcher knocked on the door of a house and asked the owner if he could interview her for a survey.  The owner agreed, but she didn't really want to be interviewed, so she decided to make it difficult for him to understand her answers!

"Do you have any children?" the market researcher asked.  "Yes," replied the house owner, "I have three."

"Please can you tell me how old they are?" asked the market researcher. "Well, when you multiply their ages together you get 36, but when you add their ages together you get the number on that house over there with the blue door," the house owner told him.

The market researcher thought about this for a minute before saying "You haven't given me enough information!"  The house owner smiled, "my eldest plays on the school football team you know."  "Thank you," said the researcher, "now I know how old they are."

How old are the three children?
