Hi, I'm Lois Lindemann.  I teach maths and ICT at Birley Community College.  On this site you will find materials to help you with your maths course, maths challenges, some puzzles, examples of students' work, cool pictures and more.   Click on the links on the left-hand side of this page to navigate around the site.

The site is always being developed.  I hope you like it, but if you have any suggestions about improving it, please click here and send me your comments.

Important News

This site is being redesigned. The new site will be launched soon - probably shortly after February half term. (It's taking longer than I anticipated to transfer everything across.

Why is MoreThanMaths.com changing?

  • the site has grown and grown over the years - it now really needs reorganising
  • the new design will make it easier to find your way around the site
  • I want introduce new features, such as giving you the chance to let me know what you think by leaving comments
  • and finally - it's time we had a change of colour scheme - no more pink (sorry Mrs Crookes)

Don't want it to change? No problem - the old site will still be online, Just go to old.morethanmaths.com instead of www.morethanmaths.com. In fact that will work for any link on this site - just change the www part of the web address to old - it should still work. Please let me know if it doesn't!

Change is in the air!
Big changes are afoot at MoreThanMaths.com

1. The site has moved to a new server. You don't need to do anything, but please be patient - things may be a bit glitchy for a few days.

2. A major update is underway. This site has looked the same since it was launched. It's time for some changes. I'll be asking for opinions and input from students and anyone else that uses the site during the next few weeks. Watch this space.

Virus free (finally)

 I've been plagued with viruses on this site. I cleaned them out many times, but they kept sneaking back in. I cleaned up the site yet again as I moved it across to a new host. Finally things seem to have improved. If you do encounter any more problems, please let me know!

Easy as pi

 It was Pi Day on March the 14th. (That's 3/14 in the American date format - can you see why that date is Pi Day)

Neither the More Than Maths Flickr photo stream nor the Mind reader are currently accessible from the school network. I'm working on this, but I can't promise anything. Sorry!

Both are working, just not from school.
